1. Identify “Free Edge Tiles”: First, scan the board for tiles on the edge of the layout. These are “free tiles”—they have no adjacent tiles blocking at least one side (e.g., a tile on the far left of the board, or a tile at the top of a stack with no tiles above it). Only these free edge tiles can be selected.
2. Match Identical Pairs: Once you spot two free edge tiles with the exact same symbol (e.g., two “9-circle” tiles, two “east wind” tiles), click (or tap) on the first tile—it will highlight (e.g., with a subtle border) to confirm your choice.
